Administration of the 2019 Special Philippine Educational Placement Test

Administration of the 2019 Special Philippine Educational Placement Test

In commemoration of the 121st Celebration of Philippine Independence Day, the Department of Education (DepEd), through the Bureau of Education Assessment (BEA), together with the assistance of personnel from schools division offices (SDOs) and schools, shall administer the 2019 Special Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) for free in schools divisions nationwide on June 9, 2019.

Registration shall be at the SDOs starting March 1, 2019. The Division Testing Coordinators (DTCs) are directed to submit the actual number of registrants to BEA on or before April 30, 2019 at bea.ead@deped.gov.ph and bea.od@deped.gov.ph or through fax no. (02) 631-6921.

The DTCs shall be in-charge of the evaluation of documents, and shall ensure that documentary requirements of each registrants are complete, which include School Form 10 (Form 137) for secondary students or School Form 9 (Form 138) for elementary pupils, birth certificate or baptismal certificate and two l”xl” pictures.

Based on DepEd Order No. 55, s. 2016 entitled Policy Guidelines on the National Assessment of Student Learning for the K to 12 Basic Education Program, the following may register for the PEPT:

a. Learners from schools without government permit,

b. Learners from nonformal and informal education programs,

c. Learners who have incomplete or no record of formal schooling,

d. Learners with back subjects,

e. Learners who need grade level standards assessment, and

f. Learners who are overage for their grade levels.

BEA’s authorized forwarder shall deliver, and retrieve the test materials at least a week before and a day after the test administration respectively, except for the National Capital Region schools divisions, which shall be delivered two days before the test administration.

In relation to this, BEA shall conduct the National Conference on the Evaluation of Documents and Standardized Test Administration particularly to the newly designated DTCs. This will be held on April 10-12, 2019 for the Luzon cluster, and April 24-26, 2019 for the Visayas and Mindanao clusters. Venues and clustering of regions shall be announced later through an Advisory.

The following shall be discussed in the said conference:

a. Evaluation of Documents,

b. Standard Procedure in Test Administration,

c. Security of Test Materials,

d. Information Derived from the Individual Certificate of Rating, and

e. Financial Matters Relative to Test Administration.

One Division Testing Coordinator from every SDO that has at least 100 examinees is authorized to attend the activity in every designated regional venue and date.

  1. Good day! Is there an update as to when and how the canceled PEPT will be rescheduled? And what is DepEd’s alternative plan on the administration of the exam.

    School starts next month and the learners who missed the exam cannot be accommodated in the appropriate level because there is no COR as reference. Placing them in the level where they stopped will be an additional expense on the parents. Please advise. Thank you!
