The Philippine Home Economics Association (PHEA) will hold its 68th Annual National Conference and Training with the theme Hope and Happiness: The Role of Home Economics in the Pursuit of Hope and Happiness for Individuals and Communities Now and in the Future from October 21 to 23, 2016 at the Punta Villa Resort Inc., Santo Nino Sur, Arevalo District, Iloilo City.
The Conference aims to:
- provide the participants with a comprehensive and in-depth information on the new Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE), and Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP) Curriculum under the Enhanced Basic Education Program;
- provide them with updates on EPP Grade V and Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum and Technical-Vocational Livelihood (TVL) Track;
- allow them to conduct hands-on training on mini courses aligned with SHS TVL Track; and
- empower home economics related organizations in pursuing the associations’ vision and mission.
The target participants are EPP, TLE, Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers, coordinators, head teachers, school principals and supervisors from both public and private schools, and other academic professionals who are interested in SHS, and TVL Track.
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-ofclasses policy stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
