Alternative Learning System (ALS) Learning Intervention

ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE SCHEDULE FOR THE START OF LEARNING INTERVENTION IN THE ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM

The Department of Education (DepEd) announces that the start of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Learning Intervention for School Year 2019-2020 will be on June 3, 2019. This is to give time for DepEd to conduct various activities related to the rollout of the ALS K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum.

Prior to the start of the learning intervention, the following activities shall be conducted:

a. Literacy Mapping from February to May 2019;

b. Learning Intervention for 2018 Learners in Preparation for the 2018 Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test; and

c. Training on the Utilization of ALS K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum and New ALS Assessment Forms, Informal Education Training, and Life Skills Training for ALS Teachers from March to May 2019.

The DepEd shall download funds for the conduct of trainings on the utilization of funds of the ALS K to 12 Basic Education.

Contracting of service providers and implementation of ALS programs through the Balik Paaralan Para sa Out-of School Adult (BP-OSA) shall be temporarily suspended except for regions with on-going BP-OSA implementation.

This Memorandum does not cover the implementation of the Alternative Learning System-Education and Skills Training (ALS-EST) by the Office of the Secretary, under the supervision of Undersecretary Nepomuceno A. Malaluan.
