The Ballet Philippines (BP) announces its 47th Season-“Wings of Hope” for School Year 2016-2017 at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Main Theater, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City on the following dates with different performances:

BP revives the timeless tale of love and adventure set to Igor Stravinsky’s enchanting and groundbreaking musical score. Choreographer George Birkadze brings a fresh approach to the mystical Firebird, reimagining the Russian folk tale into a Philippine setting, and featuring international guest stars with a live orchestra on select shows.

A new ballet based on Dr. Jose Rizal’s El Filibusterismo. It follows the transformation and succeeding actions of the formerly hopeful and optimistic Crisostomo Ibarra into the cynical revolutionary, Simoun. The show features a libretto and choreography by Paul Alexander Morales and original music by Jed Balsamo, performed by the ABS-CBN Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Gerard Salonga.

An exciting collaboration between BP and the ABS-CBN Orchestra, featuring the music of the popular Filipino music group, VST and Co. in a groovy celebration of the holiday season and the Manila Sound.
The learners and teachers from both public and private schools are invited to watch the said performances.
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
