Clarification on the Enlistment of Children Below Five Years Old by June 1

In pursuant to DepEd Order No. 5, s. 2016 dated January 26, 2016, Re: Declaring January 30, 2016 as commencement of Early Registration for School Year 2016-2017, as stated in enclosure no. 2, if children who turn 5 years old within the month of June are recommended for admission, school heads should secure written permission from the Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) to admit these children into Kindergarten.

For children who have no Kindergarten experience, they must undergo “Catch Up Education Program” the 20 weeks or 8 weeks curriculum to fully prepare them for admission to grade 1. For further clarification refer to DepEd Order No. 11, s. 2014.
