Computation of Public School Teachers’ Proportional Vacation Pay for School Year 2019-2020

The Department of Education (DepEd) releases DepEd Memorandum No. 49, s. 2020 on the Computation of Public School Teachers’ Proportional Vacation Pay for School Year 2019-2020.

Computation of Public School Teachers’ Proportional Vacation Pay for School Year 2019-2020

Pursuant to Civil Sendee Commission Memorandum Circular (CSC MC) No. 40. s. 1998 and as amended by CSC MC No. 9. s. 2012, this is to provide the field offices with a uniform basis for the Computation of the Proportional Vacation Pay (PVP) for School Year (SY) 2019-2020 for all public elementary, secondary and senior high school teachers under the teacher’s leave basis.

For SY 2019-2020, each of the teachers who have rendered continuous service from June 3. 2019 to April 3. 2020 shall be entitled to 80 days total of PVP from Summer and Christmas vacation days, computed as follows:

Total Number of days served from June 3. 2019 to April 3. 2020306 days
Less: Number of Christmas vacation days earned from December 15, 2019 to January 5, 2020-22 days
Actual days served284 days
Multiply factorx 0.282
Total PVP earned from the number of Summer and Christmas vacation days80 days
Less: Number of Christmas vacation days-22 days
Number of Summer vacation days earned from April 4 to May 31. 202058 days

Factor 0.282 shall be used for the computation of absences and PVP for SY 2019-2020. Below is the derivation of factor 0.282.

Divided by actual days served284 days
