DepEd Core Values Indicators: Concrete Manifestation

To:

Public Schools District Supervisors
Public Elementary School Heads Concerned
Teachers

1. As per DepEd Order No. 8, s. 2015 on page 20, IV; the core values of the Filipino child be reflected in the report card. The core values have been translated into a behavior statement. In addition, indicators have been formulated for each behavior statement. Schools may craft additional indicators for the behavior statements but must ensure that these are child-centered, gender-fair, and, age and culture appropriate. To support the development of these core values, schools must make sure that their homeroom guidance program promotes them. Additional opportunities maybe integrated into class discussion in all learning areas.

2. The Division Office came up with a concrete manifestation of each indicator, which will clearly show the observable behavior of the pupils and students in the school. This will guide the class adviser and other teachers who shall agree on how to conduct the observations of the non-numerical rating scale that will be used to report on learners’ behavior demonstrating the core values.

3. The Objectives are:

1. To guide the teachers identify learners who needs psychosocial support from the school.
2. To give an accurate non-numerical rating on the core values of the learners in the report card.
3. To promote the learner’s effective development and to better understand his/her situation and context.

4. These are the results and output of the orientation seminar workshops participated by elementary school heads. It was consolidated, reviewed and evaluated to ensure that these concrete manifestations are child-centered, gender fair, and age and culture-appropriate in the Division of Baguio City.

5. The teachers are free to add and contextualize any of the items to suit the need of the learners in the classroom and schools.

6. Immediate and wide dissemination of this memorandum is desired.

  1. Sir, I think attending Brigada Eskwela is more on the side of Makakalikasan. Although participating on this activity, points out helping with each other, but the bottom point of doing such, is for the preparation of the school environment itself. We do cleaning outside, repairing garbage pit, etc. Sa palagay ko lang naman po.
