Effect of Proportional Vacation Pay (PVP) in the May 2020 and Succeeding Months’ Payroll Computations
This is in reference to DepEd Memorandum No. 49, series of 2020 dated April 30, 2020, entitled “Computation of Public Schools Teachers’ Proportional Vacation Pay (PVP) for School Year 2019-2020,” it provides that all elementary, secondary, and senior high school teachers who have rendered their services during the period of June 3, 2019 to April 3, 2020 shall be eligible to a proportional vacation pay, based on the actual number of days served.
This Department is aware that the salaries of the teachers during summer requires processing/computation by the Schools Division Office personnel. Thus, the Regional Directors are advised to expedite the dispensation of the salaries of all DepEd teaching personnel for the month of May 2020. The computation of the PVP based on the DepEd Memorandum, will be considered as an overpayment and shall be deducted on the succeeding payroll period.
The Regional Offices who have complied and have made adjustments in the PVP are allowed to release the adjusted salaries to the teachers within their respective regions. Consequently, Regional Offices which are yet to make adjustments in the PVP may do so on a later date.
