Attached herewith is Unnumbered Memorandum from DepEd Undersecretary and Spokesperson Atty. Nepomuceno Malaluan, entitled ADVISORY ON WORK ARRANGEMENT FOR THE FACE-TO-FACE ENROLLMENT BEGINNING JUNE 16, 2020. For information and guidance.

Advisory on Work Arrangement for the Face-To-Face Enrollment Beginning June 16, 2020

While my office has exerted all efforts to finish last week the review of the Guidelines on Alternative Work Arrangements for endorsement to the Secretary, unfortunately there remains provisions requiring final clarifications with concerned members of the Execom.

Given that tomorrow is the start of allowing face-to-face enrollment arrangements, may I furnish you the effectivity and transitory portion of the draft Guidelines, which may serve as guidance for the work arrangement beginning tomorrow, even as we exert all efforts to have the reviewed guidelines endorsed to the Secretary today for her consideration/approval.

The said provision is as follows:

“This Order shall take effect immediately upon issuance and shall remain in force until the State of National Emergency has been lifted by the President. However, to avoid risks of exposure, and to allow for the proper determination and understanding of alternative work arrangements under these guidelines, the status quo on work arrangements for officials, teaching and nonteaching personnel in the entire DepEd nationwide is extended until June 21, 2020. All teachers in DepEd schools nationwide shall continue to work from home until June 21, 2020, except those authorized by the Regional Directors to render work in field or school in light of the ongoing enrollment, subject to strict observance of COV1D-19 health and safety precautions.

May I, on behalf of the Secretary, reiterate the high importance of ensuring that clear instructions are given to our teachers for safe and orderly face-to-face enrollment arrangements, which we are aware you have already planned well ahead of time.

Thank you.
