This year’s theme “Kabataang Mula sa K to 12, Tagapagdala ng Kaunlaran sa Bansang Pilipinas” conveys the significance of the K to 12 Basic Education Program as the key transformative vehicle for local and national development that greatly influence our global competitiveness and progress.

As the foremost educational reform, the K to 12 Basic Education Program gives emphasis to the provision of quality education to develop and harness the necessary competencies of the Filipino youth who can help foster our country’s reformation and contribute to the common goal of building the nation. It also affirms the ardent commitment of the Department of Education in attaining its vision of endowing every learner with 21st century skills that will help them realize their full potential and become globally competitive individuals.

My dear graduates, in your hands lies the future of this nation. As you move to a new chapter in your life, my fervent desire is for you to recognize your life goals and work hard towards the realization of all your dreams and aspirations. I wish that you also take hold the necessary preparation and always bring to mind that, with perseverance and determination, you can hurdle through all the hardships and challenges that will come your way.
