Thorough and Immediate Inspection of School and Office Buildings and Facilities and Submission of Radars
In view of the recent magnitude 6.2 earthquake that hit Eastern Samar at 1:37pm today and in accordance with previous instruction from Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, all principals, school heads and teachers-in-charge are hereby instructed to undertake thorough investigation of all school buildings and facilities before allowing learners, teachers and personnel to enter the same.
All engineers and architects and DRRM coordinators at the affected regional and division offices are hereby instructed to lend support to all concerned in the determination of the structural integrity and safety of buildings and facilities in DepEd schools and offices within 250 kilometer radius from San Julian, Eastern Samar, the epicenter of the earthquake.
Regional Directors, Schools Division Superintendents, and ESSD and SGOD Chiefs of affected areas, as well as the Education Facilities Division (EFD), the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service (DRRMS) and all concerned are hereby enjoined to immediately cascade this instruction up to the school level for immediate implementation starting at 5:00am of April 24, 2019
Only when the structural integrity and safety of buildings and facilities is assured can the learners, teachers and personnel be allowed to enter the same.
All concerned are hereby enjoined to submit Rapid Assessment of Damages Reports (RADARs) no later than 12:00 noon tomorrow for consolidation and finalization. RADARs are to be submitted and consolidated by DRRM Coordinators and DRRMS through their established channels.
