The Philippine Association of English Language, Linguistics, and Literature Teachers (PAELLLT) Inc., and the Philippine Center for Teachers’ Continuing Education (PCTCE) Inc. will hold its First PhilTESOL: A Regional ELT Conference in Teaching and Learning English as a Second/Foreign Language with the theme Traditions, Tensions, Trends, and Transitions in Teaching English for Specific Purposes from December 2 to 4, 2016 at the Institute of Social Order (ISO), Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), Loyola Heights, Quezon City.
The Conference aims to:
- equip teacher-participants with skills in teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language the fun and creative way;
- make a paradigm shift in teaching from pedagogy to andragogy in an outcome-based design; and
- customize teaching and assessment attuned to the chosen disciplines of learners.
The target participants are school administrators, supervisors, English and Reading teachers from both public and private elementary and secondary schools, and education students.
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
