Year-End Message to the TeacherPH Community

Mark Llego Mount Makiling

It took one documentary show to urge the flame of concern to burn in my heart.

Nine years ago, my eyes were opened to the growing problem of our country with regard to Education. I can still remember how I and my high school classmate and my best friend, Ms. Roselyn Mae Lanuzo, who is now a member of my growing team of educators working for the benefit of both private and public teachers in the country, discussed how life-changing would it be to become a part of those people who empower the teachers of our country.

It changed my life— that documentary show which featured teachers working more than the required hour, travelling to the remotest places just to teach and change the community they belong in, and spending quite a big part of their salary to support some students in buying their school and even personal needs. We were teary eyed and were very touched that I and Roselyn even told each other, along with our other classmates that we hoped to help teachers like those who were featured in the documentary show we watched. Never we thought that that hoping would come in to fulfillment (not a total fulfillment but at least, we know and we can see that we are getting there).

After graduating high school, I began to establish my own blogging sites while pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree. I was succeeding as a blogger and I had few successful websites. Although I was already getting a lot of attention online, still, there was always something that is missing until I met my high school pal again, Roselyn. She just became a licensed teacher and we celebrated it. That fateful reunion with her stirred the memory of that documentary film we watched back in high school and CLICK! TeacherPH was born!

I was able to acquaint with some known educators and collaborate with my elder colleagues who are teachers in profession too. I asked them to give me bits of info about the needs and issues in the field of education. On October 17, 2014 after months of conceptualizing, writing, and revising, I was finally able to make it accessible online this online platform that you have been supporting for three good years.

In behalf of TeacherPH’s team of educators and writers, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to you, dear users and readers who trusted TeacherPH. You made 2017, indeed a booming year for all teachers nationwide!

We became the most trusted online platform for teachers. It is so because from a hundred page views back in 2014, the number of users who visited TeacherPH this year increased to 2,583,717 with 23,210,764 page views. And because of our reliable and fast response, there were about 5,057 support request we received via email and about 2,083 private messages on our Facebook page.

The growing number of members on our Facebook group has also reached 134,545— a proof that we were able to fulfill our mission, which is to connect teachers nationwide and for them to share their ideas, especially their knowledge and skills to one another for the benefit of all students in the country.

Because of the improved service and fast information dissemination, our Facebook Fan page likes also increased to 67,934.

This year was a year was a fulfilling one too for we were able to begin the Principals’ Test Online Review Program and Licensure Examination for Teachers Face to Face Review with over 2000 enrollees. These enrollees and even the other users of TeacherPH were able to access our Android Applications. We recorded that there were about 52,000 installs this year.

It is indeed, a year of collaboration. Our partnership with you, has been proven to be successful for we won’t be able to record these huge numbers without your continuous trust and support. We promise to try more and challenge ourselves more to provide you with our better service. We will continue to fulfill the vision and mission of TeacherPH as we respond to the needs of our education stakeholders in the present time. We will go with the flow of rapid change to be able to provide you the needs of our field in our time and we will go against the current to be able to make a difference and find solution in this educational world full of the same, unresolved problems.

To our advertisers, 51Talk Philippines and Bibo Global Opportunity, I would like to thank you for choosing us and for the great partnership you offered.

To Ms. Roselyn Mae Lanuzo, our researcher and editor, I know you already know the level of my gratitude.

To our administrators, Mr. Lito Palomar, Mr. Richilo Laceda, Mr. Jhucel del Rosario, Mr. Cristopher Duro (Taga DepEd Ako Founder), Mr. Francis Kenneth Hernandez, and Mr. Arwen Marquez, I thank you for selflessly giving your time to TeacherPH. A million thanks for all the sleepless nights you spent writing for and conceptualizing the content that we publish on our website and of course, for giving your wisest advice in times I need it the most!

To my family who kept understanding my shortcomings and to my friends who still supported me though I was not around most of the time because of my busy sched, thank you very much! Being with you this year has been a blessing that I looked forward to and will keep looking forward to every day.

Finally, to the whole TeacherPH community and to the reviewees of the Principals’ Test and Licensure Examination for Teachers, my humblest and sincerest thanks to you. You have made our team successful and we wish you all well and we hope for your fruitful career in the field of teaching!

Next year 2018, I’d like to make more dynamic educators be known in the country by giving them the opportunity to expose themselves in the online world and demonstrate their skills through writing and speaking publicly. We’ll be looking for volunteer writers who want to hone their skills in writing and at the same time, propagate their worth-sharing ideas to their fellow educators.

I also encourage all the experienced and talented educators who have already proven a lot in our field to accept the challenge of imparting their expertise and extend their service to the other teachers who are just beginning to understand and master the many facets of our field. We ask you to take part in facilitating different free seminars for teachers who want to improve their craft and who want to collaborate with accomplished people like you. We humbly welcome you in our team! Let us work together for the good of all educators nationwide!

Finally, I am full of hope to announce I and my team of educators are positive that we will be able to achieve best results as we work on the needed paper and requirement in able to open TeacherPH’s review center. We are also proud to announce that we have already collaborated with different academic titans in the field of education for them to give different seminars and training’s in some selected regions in the Philippines.

Together, we will endeavor and we will be able to achieve our goals for all the teachers! Yes, for all of us, teachers!

Again thank you all and Happy New Year!
