Burgos has the 21st most learners of the 21 cities and municipalities in Surigao del Norte, and the eighth most learners per teacher in public schools. In SY 2024-25 its six schools held 975 learners, with another 98 in ALS, and its public schools had 44 teachers. Enrollment in schools fell 1.7% from SY 2023-24, with ALS not counted. Leaving out two schools whose figures are under review, the largest schools are Burgos Central Elementary School with 284 learners, Baybay Elementary School with 115 and San Mateo Elementary School with 56.
