2022 Brigada Eskwela National Kick-off

This is in reference to OULAPPP Memo No. Q-285, s. 2022 on the subject “Participation in the 2022 Brigada Eskwela National Kick Off in Baguio City on August 1, 2022”, which will be hosted by the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

On July 27, 2022, a tectonic 7.3 magnitude earthquake hit the Luzon regions with epicenter reported at Lagangilang, Abra. Baguio City was also affected with 7.0 magnitude earthquake and reported unpassable roads, danger to the establishments within the vicinity and possible aftershocks in the coming days.

Considering the safety and security of all the participants expected to join the said event, the venue which was originally arranged to be conducted in Baguio City was transferred to Imus Pilot Elementary School in Imus City, Cavite to be hosted by DepEd Region IV-A CALABARZON per instruction of Her Excellency Vice President and Secretary Sara Z. Duterte.

Attendees to this program are Schools Division Superintendents, all Assistant Schools Division Superintendents, and (1) Division Focal Person for Partnership and Linkages.

The PTA Hall will be the main venue for the VIPs to include Schools Division Superintendents, while Assistant Schools Division Superintendents and Division Partnership Focal Persons will be at the Youth Center Building where there is a LED Wall to witness the proceedings of the Program.

Expenses incidental to this travel shall be charged against local funds subject to existing accounting and auditing rules and regulations

The Department of Education (DepEd) through its External Partnerships Service (EPS) shall be conducting the annual implementation of the “BRIGADA ESKWELA (BE) PROGRAM ACTIVITIES” on August 1-26, 2022 with the theme “Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral”.

The National Brigada Eskwela Kick-off Program will be held on August 1, 2022 at Baguio City National High School from 8:00 A.M to 12:00 P.M. hosted by DepEd Cordillera Administrative Region.

All Regional Offices (ROs) and Schools Division Offices (SDOs) are also encouraged to hold their kick-off ceremony in their respective areas after the national kick oil program with limited face-to-face participation and strict adherence to health protocols observed.

This year’s Brigada Eskwela shall focus on the following:

  1. implementation of the year-round schools’ maintenance and repair activities, which includes the provision of the immediate needs during disaster or calamities, and the addressing of resource gaps during the reopening of the face-to-lace classes;
  2. strengthened partnership engagements with partners and stakeholders that complement DepEd’s efforts to ensure quality basic education:
  3. achievement of significant goals which shall contribute in increasing students’ participation rate, reducing dropouts and helping improve learning for both learners and community; and
  4. creation of a network of community-based organization to get total community commitment for collaborative programs and projects including the Brigada Pagbasa and other support and volunteer/community-based projects.

In this regard, we would like to invite the BARMM Education Minister, all Regional Directors, Education Support Services Division (ESSD) Chiefs and Regional Partnership Focal Person to join the National BE Kick-off Program in Baguio City on August 1, 2022. Accommodation and meals shall be provided by EPS through the host region from July 31 to August 1. 2022. Travelling and other incidental expenses shall be charged against local funds subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules, procedures and regulations.
