NEAP Training Facility in Baguio Teachers Camp

In line with the Sulong Edukalidad pillar on teacher upskilling and reskilling, the Department of Education (DepEd) embarked on transforming the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP), the professional development (PD) arm of the Department, through the issuance of DepEd Order No. 11, s. 2019 titled Implementation of the NEAP Transformation.

The NEAP Transformation involves three major components, namely: Organizational Transformation, which entails revisiting and defining NEAP’s structure, functions, and personnel complement; Program Transformation, which focuses on the alignment of professional development programs and courses with professional standards for teachers and school leaders, professional development priorities, and career progression, while still ensuring the quality of programs through an established recognition system; and Support Systems, which are provided to facilitate the goals of the NEAP Transformation and better support the professional development needs of public school teachers.

One of the support systems is the rehabilitation and upgrading of NEAP training facilities, starting with NEAP Baguio. Inaugurated during the NEAP Transformation Launch last June 9-10, 2022, the modernized NEAP Training Facility in Baguio Teachers Camp (BTC) is envisioned not just as a venue that provides state-of-the art amenities for the conduct of professional development programs, but also as a facility capable of providing highly specialized services such as quality online training and video production.

To best fulfill its function as a training facility, the NEAP Training Facility in BTC shall be used exclusively for the conduct of professional development programs and related activities intended for teachers and school leaders in public and private schools, as well as for high-level meetings of DepEd.

Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance with this Order is directed.
