Guidelines in the Ranking of Master Teacher Applicants

Please find attached Unnumbered Memorandum dated September 10, 2014, from Undersecretary Rizalino D. Rivera, informing all concerned DepEd Offices that in the ranking and appointment of Master Teachers, the guidelines stipulated in MEC Order No. 10, s. 1979 (“Implementing Rules and Regulations for the System of Career Progression for Public School Teachers”) and DECS Order No. 57, s. 1997 (“Further Implementation of the Career Progression System for Master Teachers”) shall be strictly followed. The said issuances are enclosed for your reference.

MEC Order No. 10, s. 1979 and DECS Order No. 57, s. 1997 as the Appropriate Guidelines in the Ranking of Master Teacher Applicants

It has been brought to our attention that there has been confusion with regard to the ranking of Master Teacher positions in Region VII, particularly in the Division of Cebu City.

Please be informed that in the ranking and appointment of Master Teachers, the guidelines stipulated in MEC Order No. 10, s. 1979 (“Implementing Rules and Regulations for the System of Career Progression for Public School Teachers“) and DECS Order No. 57, s. 1997 (“Further Implementation of the Career Progression System for Master Teachers”) shall be strictly followed. The said issuances are enclosed for your reference.

It is hereby instructed that the RO and SDOs issue respective Memoranda clarifying and directing that MEC Order No. 10, s. 1979 and DECS Order No. 57, s. 1997 be followed in the ranking of Master Teacher positions. Implementation of the said polices is likewise expected.

It is also instructed that any memoranda issued with the directive to follow DepEd Order No. 66, s. 2007 in the ranking of Master Teacher positions, if any, be immediately rescinded.

Immediate attention and strict compliance to this Memorandum is desired.

  1. Pwede lang ba makireclassified sa Master Teacher kahit isang teaching load ka lang sa isang subject? May nabasa kasi ako sa DO 1, S. 1985. Diko sure kung legit dapat daw kasi 2 loads sa subject area to be reclassified

  2. bakit po kailangan sa master teacher 1 position ay 3 years na Teacher 3 position, samantala Sa video ay sinasabing 3years na permanent teacher
