This Physical Science Quarter 1 – Module 10: Limiting Reactants and the Amount of Products Formed for School Year 2021-2022 was designed and written with you in mind. It is here to help you to use stoichiometric calculation to determine excess and limiting reactants in a chemical reaction. Also, it helps you to understand how to perform calculations in product formation. The scope of this module permits it to be used in many different learning situations. The language used recognizes the diverse vocabulary level of students. The lessons are arranged to follow the standard sequence of the course. But the order in which you read them can be changed to correspond with the textbook you are now using.

Senior High School (SHS) Physical Science Self-Learning Module (SLM)
The module consists of:
Lesson 1
- Limiting Reactants and the Amount of Products Formed
After going through this module, you are expected to:
- recall the meaning of chemical reactions, products and reactants;
- review how to balance equations of chemical reactions;
- recall the possible conversions in chemical reactions;
- analyze a chemical reaction in order to determine which reactant is the limiting reactant and which is the excess reactant;
- calculate the theoretical yield of a reaction when the available amounts of each reactant are known; and
- calculate the percent yield of a reaction based on the theoretical and actual yields.
