In behalf of the whole Department of Education, warmest congratulations to the Province of Ilocos Sur for hosting the 2018 Palarong Pambansa!
We should all know by now that the conduct of Palarong Pambansa is not only a showcase of the youth’s skills and talents in playing competitive sports, but also a place to hone their values and discipline which will make them not just champions in sports, but also champions in life.
Moreover, this annual event does not only aim to unite children from different walks of life. It also intends to open the eyes of individuals on how sports can help realize our children’s dreams, and help them prepare for greater opportunities that are to yet to come.
Our nation’s future depends so much on the hands of our youth, and the showcase of their talents in sports confirms how they can contribute to our country’s development in their own, unique ways.
I hope that the conduct of this event will continue to foster sportsmanship, camaraderie, and unity among the participants so that they will live in accordance with the vision, mission, and goals of the Palarong Pambansa. I hope that with this, we continue to open the eyes of our countrymen on the importance of sports in our daily lives.
I would like to commend all of you for keeping the fire in your hearts alive to serve our people through different means.
I, together with the whole DepEd family, would like to thank you for your unwavering support. Rest assured that the Department is one with you in enriching and empowering our students through sports.
