DepEd National Virtual Training on Sports Skills

In support of the Department of Education’s programs on school sports, particularly the implementation of sports clubs in the public school system, the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration (OUA) through the Bureau of Learner Support Services-School Sports Division (BLSS-SSD) will conduct the National Virtual Training on Sports Skills on 06-21 October 2021.

The training aims to provide the target participants with appropriate knowledge and competencies in demonstrating the different sports skills sets based on the performance indicators stipulated in the DepEd Sports Manual.

Target participants are teacher-coaches and/or Physical Education (PE) teachers involved in sports clubs of the identified sports with ANY of the following qualifications:

  1. Successfully completed the developmental, intermediate, and advanced levels of the National Training in Sports Coaching (NTSC);
  2. Has experience in coaching in the regional meet and Palarong Pambansa; and
  3. Must be physically fit (required).

To ensure that the virtual training will be conducted effectively, only two (2) participants (preferably one (1) male and one (1) female) per school division office (SDO) from the 17 regions shall be accommodated. The Regional Sports Officers are tasked to identify the participants based on the recommendation of their respective SDOs through the Division Sports Officers.

Identified participants may register and submit the following online through bit.ly/3siNvCB on or before 10 September 2021:

  1. NTSC Certificates
  2. Medical certificate

All concerned are enjoined to authorize the target participants under their jurisdiction to participate in this National Training.

Financial assistance shall be downloaded to the Regional Offices (except for BARMM) to cover expenses for the conduct of localized virtual trainings on sports skills, as part of re-echoing the National Training in the field. Said assistance shall be charged against the Physical Fitness and School Sports (PFSS) Funds subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

Further, a report must be submitted by the Regional Offices regarding the utilization of the aforesaid financial assistance for monitoring purposes of this Office. The utilization report shall be submitted to the BLSS-SSD through email address: blss.ssd@deped.gov.ph .
