  1. Yesterday, October 5, 2017, was the anticipated World Teachers’ Day. And in compliance with DepEd Order, schools throughout the country celebrated the day with synchronized programs and activities to recognize the unwavering service and commitment of Filipino teachers in strengthening communities and building the nation, the Department of Education (DepEd), together with education partners.
Unfortunately, despite time frame (October 5, 2017) set by DepEd , one school, particularly the Mambugan II Elementary School located in Mambugan, Antipolo City celebrated the World Teachers’ Day only the following day, October 6, 2017. It seemed that the head of this particular school defied DepEd Memo relative to the celebration of anticipated World Teachers’ Day. Is this the kind of teacher that we want to honor and to consider worthy of emulation by students and peers? DepEd most likely will receive a
fake report that celebration was held on the designated day in order to avoid being questioned for such change of time frame.
