DIVISION MEMORANDUM NO. 24, s. 2016

COMPOSITION OF THE NEW DIVISION SELECTION COMMITTEE AND SCHEDULES FOR RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION OF NEW TEACHERS

To:

1. To ensure that the quality of basic education in the Division is enhanced through hiring of highly-competent teachers for SY 2016-2017, all school are enjoined to abide with the guidelines on Recruitment, Selection, Evaluation and Ranking of Teacher I applicants stipulated in DepEd Order No. 7, s. 2015, re: Hiring Guidelines for Teacher I Positions effective SY 2015-2016.

2. The following provisions of the abovementioned DepEd Orders are hereby emphasized/reiterated:

a. Applicant shall submit to the head of elementary or secondary school where a teacher shortage or vacancy exist.
b. Public school teachers requesting for transfer to another station are not considered new applicants and are therefore not subject to these guidelines.
c. As provided in Section 26 (b) Paragraph 2 of RA 9293, teachers who have not practiced their profession for the past five (5) years shall be required to take at least twelve units in education courses, consisting of at least six (6) unit of content courses.
d. In the elementary level, the school Screening Committee shall be chaired by School Head with four (4) teachers as members. The Screening Committee in the secondary shall be chaired by the School Head, Department Head concerned and three (3) teachers from different learning areas (as needed based on schools vacancies) as members.
e. The School Screening Committee shall verify all documents as to the completeness and authenticity & submit the lists of applicants to the Division Selection Committee. The tests of applicants shall be categorized by position, Elementary/Secondary, Kindergarten, Mobile Teacher, SPED.

4. All teacher-applicants shall take English proficiency test on the dates & venue specified above.

5. Likewise, teacher-applicants who will take the EPT are advised to wear proper business attire. Also bring identification card, certificate of PRC Rating/PRC License for identification/verification purposes.

6. The review & finalization of the Registry of Qualified Applicants (RQA) for 2016-2017 shall be done by the Personnel Selection Board.

Announcing the CHANGE OF SCHEDULE OF THE CONDUCT OF THE EPT.

Please be informed that the schedule of the conduct of the ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST will be on MARCH 6, 2016 , SUNDAY @ the REDAJA HALL,DepEd Samar Division Office, Catbalogan, Samar.

Applicants who will take the test are advised to bring their PRC LICENSE or in the absence thereof, the

Certification of Good Standing issued by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
